Case History:  Mast.Viraj Vijay Hendge 08 month old boy, suffering from VSD. A ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a hole in the heart. It’s a common heart problem present at birth (congenital heart defect). The hole occurs in the wall that separates the heart’s lower chamber. This type of VSD surgery requires a heart long machine and an incision in the chest. This is the preferred procedure for repairing most ventricular septal defects. A surgeon uses a patch or stitches to close the hole between the lower heart chambers. Doctors have informed them that he requires open heart surgery as early as possible. The patient is being operated in Balaji Heart Hospital and Diagnostic Center Byculla – Mumbai.

Family Background:  His father works as a labour and his mother is a housewife. His father’s monthly income is only 5000/- per month. Since his father had to take care of the family and they are dependent on him, he is not in a position to bear the cost of the treatment of his son.
