Case History:  Mast.Swaraj Chapke. 10yrs old boy, suffering from large perimembranous VSD and he needs to undergo surgery for ICR and VSD closure. VSD is a heart defect caused by the birth of a child in which there is a hole in the wall (septum) that separates the lower chambers (ventricles) of the heart. This wall is also called the ventricular septum. A surgery will be conducted in which a patch or stitches will be done to close the hole between the lower heart chambers. Doctors have informed them that he requires open heart surgery as early as possible. The patient is being operated on in Balaji Heart Hospital and Diagnostic Center Byculla – Mumbai.

Family Background: His father works as a labour in a farm and his mother is a housewife. His father’s monthly income is only 6000/- per month. Since his father had to take care of the family and they are dependent on him, he is not in a position to bear the cost of the treatment of his son.
