Case History: Mast. Pradum Chandance, a 06 Years old boy, is suffering from a large ASD. An atrial septal defect (ASD) is a hole in the heart between the upper chambers (atria). The hole increases the amount of blood that flows through the lungs. A surgical repair usually involves using a tissue patch to close the ASD. The tissue often comes from your pericardium. The patient will be operated on at Balaji Heart Hospital & Diagnostic Centre.

Family Background: His father works as a farmer and his mother is a housewife. His father’s monthly income is 4000/- since his parents’ financial condition is very poor and they have four members in their family. They depend on his father; he is not able to bear the cost of his son’s treatment.
