Case History: Miss Iqara Yunus Patel, 4 years old female. Who is suffering from large Os ASD with Moderate TR severe PAH. Atrial septal defect (ASD) with moderate and more importantly severe pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) pose a clinical diemma. Closing ASD in those with irreversible PAH and not closing it when the PAH is reversible can cost patients dearly both in terms of quality of life and longevity. Atrial septal defect (ASD) repair is a surgical treatment administered for closing a hole in the atrial septum. The atrial septum is a wall that divides the heart’s right and left upper chambers. The patient is being operated in Balaji Heart Hospital and Diagnostic Centre Byculla – Mumbai.

Family Background: Her father works as a labour and her mother is a house wife. Her father’s monthly income is only 2500/-. Since her father had to take care of the family and they are dependent on him, he is not in a position to bear the cost of the treatment of his daughter.
