Case History: Mast. Hamja Momin, 06 Month boy, is suffering from a large secundum atrial septal defect and severe pulmonary hypertension. An ASD is a congenital heart defect where there is an abnormal opening in the atrial septum, the wall that separates the two upper chambers of the heart. “Large” indicates that the hole in the atrial septum is significant in size. Pulmonary hypertension is a condition characterized by elevated blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, which carry blood from the heart to the lungs. The patient is being operated on in Jehangir Hospital – Pune.

Family Background: His father works as a butcher in the chicken shop and his mother is a housemaid.
