Case History: Baba Ashil Aamir Khan, an 8 Months old boy, is suffering from a large ASD with predominant right to left shunt. An atrial septal defect (ASD) is a hole in the heart between the upper chambers (atria). The hole increases the amount of blood that flows through the lungs. A surgical repair usually involves using a tissue patch to close the ASD. The tissue often comes from your pericardium. The patient will be operated on at Balaji Heart Hospital & Diagnostic Centre.

Family Background: His father learning mechanical work in a garage and his mother is a housewife. His father’s monthly income is 6000/- since his parents’ financial condition is very poor and they have eight members in their family.
