Case History: Miss Anamika Sale, a 4-year-old girl, is suffering from a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), which is a hole in the heart. This common congenital heart problem is present at birth and occurs in the wall that separates the heart’s lower chambers. Surgery is required to close the hole between the lower heart chambers using a patch or stitches. The patient will undergo the operation at Jehangir Hospital in Pune.

Family Background: Her father works as a labourer and his mother is a housewife. His father’s monthly income is 13,500/- since her parent’s financial condition is very poor and they have eight members in their family. They are dependent on her father; he is not in a position to bear the cost of her daughter’s treatment.
