Case History: Mast. Mahesh Pawara, a 1 year old boy, is suffering from a large ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a defect or hole in the wall that separates the lower two chambers of the heart. These chambers are called the ventricles, and the wall separating them is called the ventricular septum. Surgical repair of a ventricular septal defect involves open heart surgery and the placement of a prosthetic patch, sutured in place that covers the defect. The patient will be operated on at Balaji Heart Hospital & Diagnostic Centre. Family Background: His father works as a labourer on a farm, and his mother is a housewife.
