Case History: Miss Shivanaya S Rawate, 03 year old female. Who is suffering from congenital heart disease malaligned VSD with aortic override. Overriding aorta is a heart abnormality that’s congenital, or present at birth. While a normal aorta is located above the left side of your heart, an overriding aorta sits above a ventricular septal defect. This is essentially a wall between ventricles, but it has a hole in it. Fixing the ventricular septal defect and pulmonary valve issue take care of the other two problems, including the overriding aorta. The patient is being operated on in Aims Hospital & Research Centre in Pune.

Family Background: Her father works as a security guard and her mother is a housewife. She also has one elder brother. Her father’s monthly income is only 10,000/-. Since her father had to take care of the family and they are dependent on him, he is not in a position to bear the cost of the treatment.
