Case History: Mast. Ganesh Kamble, a 3 year and 10 month old boy, is suffering from large perimembranous VSD with subaortic extension with predominantly left to right shunt. VSD are located in the left ventricle outflow tract beneath the aortic valve. Defects may extend into adjacent portions of the ventricular septum. This is the preferred procedure for repairing most ventricular septal defects. Surgery is required to patch or stitch to close the hole between the lower heart chambers. The patient will be operated on at Balaji Heart Hospital & Diagnostic Centre.

Family Background: His father works as a labourer and his mother is a housewife. His father’s monthly income is 5000/- since his parent’s financial condition is very poor and they have five members in his family. They are dependent on his father, he is not in a position to bear the cost of the treatment of his son.
